Gabe had never considered himself one that fell hard. He had never even considered himself one that fell at all. However Gabe came to realize that the more time he spent with one William Beckett the harder he fell.
William had not adjusted all that well, and he still wasn’t quite adjusted, but it was only his fourth day in Pete’s manor. Plus, Gabe had gotten William to smile yesterday. Sure he had smiled before that, but those smiles were either fake or only half smiles. Yesterday Gabe had achieved a full-on, bright and sparkling smile, teeth and all. It was crooked, yes, but Gabe found that all the more endearing.
Today it was warm. That meant with permission from Pete (and babysitting from Patrick or Andy) the family could spend time outside. Gabe sat in a lawn chair on the patio while Brendon, Ryan, Jon, Spencer, Travis, Alex 3, Nate, and Sisky played football. The girls were lying out on a picnic blanket cheering on the boys. Alex 2 was leaning against a tree next to the football game, supposedly refereeing; really he was reading a book, only refereeing when an argument about using powers arose. Which really consisted of Alex 2 saying: “Quit pouting, Brendon, you know that you could’ve picked Alex 3 for your team.”
Gabe glanced around looking for William but didn't spot him. He sighed and stood up, heading inside to find the younger man. As it turns out William was exactly where Gabe thought he would be but he wasn’t doing what Gabe thought he’d be doing. Gabe expected to find William in his bedroom, on his bed, staring at the ceiling thinking about whatever. Gabe instead found William in his bedroom, sitting on his bed, playing a guitar and singing softly with his eyes closed.
Gabe saw this and was shocked. He had assumed that William played the guitar because his hands were calloused but he didn't expect Pete to allow William to play guitar. He also didn't expect William to have such a great voice.
Gabe leaned against the door frame and watched William play. He took in the way William’s fingers moved on the frets, never missing a note. He watched William’s hand strum without a pick. Gabe observed all that William did, then closed his eyes and listened to the music William was making. The harmonies suddenly stopped and Gabe’s eyes snapped open to find William staring at him in shock.
“When d-did you get here?” William asked stuttering slightly (which Gabe found adorable). Gabe didn't answer William’s question;instead he responded with a compliment.
“That was…,” Gabe paused, “bonito.” William looked at him confused and Gabe realized that he spoken partly in Spanish.
“Beautiful,” Gabe corrected himself, and William blushed, shaking his head. Gabe smiled at William’s modesty and entered the room. He walked over and sat a little closer that he should have to William.
“Thank you,” William said softly as he moved the guitar so that it was leaning against the side of the bed before asking, “Why are you here?”
“Why?” Gabe chuckled, “Want me gone?”
“No,” William shook his head, half smiling, “just curious.”
“Everyone else is outside,” Gabe commented, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah,” William sighed, “I just,” he paused, “wanted to be alone…I guess.” Gabe analyzed the way William’s posture had changed from a straightened back when he was playing the guitar to being hunched over as he said those last words.
“And that’s fine,” Gabe consoled, “but you want to be alone for the wrong reasons querdiro,” Gabe said, not caring that he had just overstepped a boundary, but William either didn’t seem to notice that or he had noticed and chose not to comment.
“And what are the right reasons?” William asked, collapsing backward so that he was lying down, his lower legs hanging off the edge. Gabe, appraising William’s new position, thought that William was either comfortable with him or frustrated with him.
“Um,” Gabe paused to think, “I…don’t…know,” he said slowly, “but if you need to be alone so you can,” Gabe used his right hand to make a cutting motion against his left wrist, “then that is definitely a wrong reason.” William laughed, brightly and joyfully. Gabe would’ve given himself a round of applause if he wasn’t so focused on how stunning William’s laugh was. When William stopped laughing he gave a wide smile and said, “Well then I guess it’s a good thing that I don’t use alone time for cutting my wrists.” Gabe smirked.
“Then what’s that?” he asked pointing at William’s wrist even though there was nothing there. William fell for it and looked down at his wrist, distracted enough that Gabe could tickle him. Gabe quickly learned that William was, in fact, very ticklish, which made it more fun and less awkward. Because, really, when you tickle someone who's not ticklish, it gets very awkward very fast.
Somehow William managed to tip Gabe just a little, so that they both fell to the floor, William on top.
“Whoa,” Gabe gasped, “How’d you manage that?” William leaned down so his lips lightly brushed against Gabe’s ear.
“Skills,” he whispered suggestively, “amazing, awesome, skills.” Gabe’s witty response got caught in his throat, but by the time he managed to take enough breaths to say it, William had already gotten off Gabe and was out the door. He stopped and poked his head back through the doorway, an eyebrow raised.
“You coming?” he asked. Gabe quickly jumped to his feet and followed William to the back yard.
Somewhere in Gabe’s mind, he finally put together what had just happened. His only regret was that his mind figured out what had happened while standing in the doorway of a closing door. The door bounced off Gabe’s forehead painfully.
“Ouch,” he whined. From the other side of the door, Gabe could hear William’s very amused chuckling. Gabe quickly opened the door and this time, made it outside without an incident.
“Dude,” William said, “do I even need to say it?” Gabe shook his head.
“No, Bill,” he sighed and lightly touched his forehead, “no you don’t.”
“It’s going to hilarious when your forehead turns purple,” William said already chuckling at the thought.
“Blah, blah, blah,” Gabe said moving to smack William playfully on the back of his head. William ducked at the last second, avoiding Gabe’s blow.
“Wow you can’t even hit me Gabe,” William teased, “tis, tis.”
“Fuck you,” Gabe replied eloquently, laughing a little.
“Only in your dreams, sweetheart,” William replied, raising an eyebrow. Gabe took this as a dare.
“Every night,” Gabe nodded, “I top of course.” Gabe eyes sparkled with curiosity at how far William would take this.
“Really because in my dreams,” William looked at his fingernails feigning casualty, “you ride my cock.” Gabe’s jaw dropped and a less-than-innocent image flashed in his brain. It then became clear to Gabe that he was going to lose this battle, but he figured he could give one more a try.
“Hmm and I bet I took your cock with no preparation and no condom,” he added, moaning lightly for effect, “I bet I’m good and tight too, perfect, like my ass was made for your cock.” Gabe hoped that he hadn’t taken it too far and lightly bit at his lip nervously.
“Yep,” William responded moaning, “no lube either,” he moaned again, “just spit and I came hard, fuck it was amazing.” Gabe’s mind recognized that this had already gone way too far, but he couldn’t resist one more comment.
“And I bet that after I came all over your stomach,” Gabe paused and ran a finger up William’s stomach, “ I licked all that cum off.” William’s breath hitched and Gabe watched as William’s Adam's apple bounced.
“Yo!” Alex 2 interrupted, “Either of you want to play?” Gabe turned his head away from William and toward Alex 2, then glanced back at William.
“You in?” he asked. William nodded.
“Sure,” Gabe called, answering for the both of them. William and Gabe both walked down to where the others were, but before they got there William leaned over and whispered in Gabe's ear.
“One word Gabe,” he paused for dramatic effect, “snowballing.” With that William headed Brendon’s team. Gabe stood stock still for a moment, then loosened up and walked to the other team, hoping that maybe he could manage to tackle William without molesting him too much.
The game didn’t last too long, not when the strategy of Gabe’s team was to pass the ball to invisi-boy. Needless to say, they won fairly quickly.
“Way to be Alex 3,” Gabe called as Alex scored the winning touchdown. From nearby, Brendon pouted and Ryan threw an arm over his shoulder as some sort of consolation.
“It’s still not fair,” Brendon called as Alex 3 was being high-fived by his team.
“Hey,” Alex 2 interjected, “you could’ve picked him for your team.”
“Blah, blah, blah,” Brendon muttered under his breath as he and Ryan started to walk away. Gabe, upon hearing this, chuckled quietly. Gabe glanced around, his eyes immediately falling on William. He sneaked up behind William and whispered in his ear, “Need a consolation prize?” William jumped then spun around to face Gabe.
“We’ll see how you feel later after I whoop you’re ass in poker later,” William said with a smile. Gabe smirked, but didn’t respond wittily; he settled for throwing an arm over William’s shoulders and guiding them inside instead.
