Another weekend meant just another couple of days for Sophie Beaumont to sit in her dorm by herself. It really was ridiculous how she had went right back to her reclusive ways. She had been alright with socializing and such there for a while but now she was right back where she began.
Of course she had plenty of things to blame it on. She could say she was busy with prefect duties or studying extra for the rapidly approaching O.W.L.S. Things to blame it on weren’t the problem at all, but what would they gain her? In actuality she was just lying to herself. Everyone else couldn’t care less about what she did over the weekend or after classes.
There were bound to be people who didn’t like her. It was part of life. She would just have to ignore it and move on. She had gotten that speech from her mother since she was at least five. Therefore, there wasn’t a single reason for her to be so standoffish. Going around fearing things was getting quite old. She turned sixteen in February, after all. She was going to have to grow up at some point.
A fifth, nearly sixth year student should know people. She should have random conversations with other Hufflepuff’s all the time, just because. So, why didn’t she?
With a heavy sigh, the girl pushed herself up out of her bed. She needed a break from studying. As she walked through the Common Room, she made an effort to smile, even if it was a little bit, at the people sitting around the room.
Soon she found herself wandering the halls aimlessly. Upon walking for a few minutes, she stopped to look out a window on her left. The weather was a lot clearer than it had been a few weekends ago, which was nice. After a moment, she noticed that the corridor wasn’t as empty as she thought. A little ways down from her she saw someone else looking out.
Slowly walking toward them, she bit her bottom lip lightly as she stopped, glancing out their window.
“Pretty day out, isn’t it?” she asked, light French accent apparent due to the fact that she wasn't so used to starting up converstations with people she didn't know.
ooc: Anybody! Multiple people even! :)
