I Can't Believe - 2:49

Mar 11, 2010 21:10

Here's another one from the vault. This one's from about seven or eight years ago and it's about social and racial injustices. It's got kind of a funk/rock sound to it, similar to Rage Against the Machine I guess.

I saw my brother
He got shot the other day
Didn't want to be a victim
So he ran the other way
I am not a liar
Put your trust in what I say

It all goes down now
It still goes, still goes down now

Put me down my brother
He fit the crime the police say
He's black, he must be guilty
Book 'em and bag 'em, that's the way
I am not a killer
What are you trying to say

It all goes down now
It still goes, still goes down now

Stop and call
Stood there on the scene
Flashing in the papers
Just between you and me
Can't help but to mistrust
The distrusted blue they bleed
Even with my own eyes
Words I can't believe

I saw another
He got shot the other day
Running from a crime scene
As the shooter walked away
Turned to run, I saw him
Trying to live another day

It all goes down now
It still goes down now

Said he wasn't guilty
Said he's white there's no way
Could have sworn he did it
There's no mistake, no other way
No protest from the people
See this badge the police say

It all goes down now
It still goes, still goes down now

Stop and call
Stood there on the scene
Flashing in the papers
Words I can't believe
Can't help but to mistrust
The distrusted blue they bleed
Even with my own eyes
A world I can't believe

society, racism, injustice, lyrics
