I worked on knitting this thing for months, starting last year, finished up the knitting bit and I'm completely stumped by the construction of this thing. I had to put it down a few months ago because it was starting to really stress me out. The plan was, that I would give it another go once I had time in the summer. But now, I can't tell what's what.

EDIT: I think I've figured out where everything is, but man, now I remember why I threw this project down months ago.
