First softball practice down

Aug 31, 2007 10:41

We had our first softball practice last night. Followed by drinking. Followed, unexpectedly, by karaoke. Moving a little slow this morning.

Softball practice went well. We had enough people to cover every position, we did not have enough gloves though. We started with just general batting practice and trying to get people to field the ball as if we were playing the game. Then we ran everyone through an at bat, running on their first hit and staying on base. It'll go better in the game on a field where the ball doesn't take erratic, nasty bounces. The pitching corps need some work.

Karaoke was a blast, we were getting ready to leave the bar and I saw Norm of Living Room Lounge fame setting up his shit. I took a stand for Karaoke, fortunately the only one who was really opposed was Nate, but he did homework on the patio while we sang. I sang Alabama Song and Boy Named Sue. Tod K cannot, nor should he ever again, sing. Emily Y. made it a point of reading "musical break 20 seconds" parts as if they were lyrics. Guthrie killed the song she sang. There were no fewer than 5 people there channeling the fat worthless shtick that ML is famous for.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do tonight, K isn't coming down, and Shawn is out of town. Andrew has to work at 10, I might hang out with him and see a movie or something and then give him a ride to work. Oh, and get my rent money from him.
