Yesterday was our little tri-meet. It was uh, a little psshhhh. Depressing but watever.
Came home... took a long long nap. Then got up and ate something. I read like the half of my book that was left, and it was a really good book. The bean trees, by Barbara Kingsolver. My mom sent it to me along with like a bunch of other books, and i had read one of those earlier, and it was so good that i read it like 4 more times.
Lemme think, i was reading that book on buddhism (Buddhism for Dummies) *don't judge me*, and i really think i wanna be a buddhist now. Well, i've been exploring the whole thing for a while, like 6 months or more, and had been reading this book, and the beginning chapters weren't really all that memorable. Well i was flipping through the book (cuz they have pretty interesting drawings) and i stumbled (although tripped would be a better word) across this secion that was about karma, it was called "Getting Your Karmic Act together". And i dunno how to explain it. But i read the section on the consequences of your actions on your future lives, and what you did in your past lives affects you in this life. Makes a lot more sense with the whole "Bad things happen to good people."
-And maybe it just sounds better to me than 1 life and that's it, and that one life determines whether you go to heaven or hell.
-Another part was that you don't have to become a full-out buddhist monk just because the beliefs make more sense to you. You can take the beliefs and use them, but you can still keep whatever religious traditions and what not.
me and my dad are going to michael's arts and crafts. So i hope i can get some canvases and some new brushes for a decent price, although i don't think that's what we're going there for.
That's all for now.
