[He doesn't respond for a moment, not because he doesn't think that Shiba's being a pest about the obvious, but because he's more concerned about locating them in time...]
It was only a matter of time. Have you found anything else strange?
[It was different before. There was much less to stand in their way. He's even been checking his Soul Phone periodically in perhaps some hope that it might function, just for him to locate them all.]
We'll have to use our senses, until we find a better method. [He knows how unreliable that sounds, but it's all they have.]

For the time being, I've asked someone if they can modify Forges so that they can give the exact location of their users. That way if someone's attacked, we won't have to waste time looking for them.
[a sigh] I hadn't.
...We should probably focus on the ones in the city for now. We can deal with the ones in the ruins later.

And how exactly do you propose we do that? We're the only ones here who can detect spirit energy and last I checked, neither of us were in Research and Development.
[He's not even going to mention that Matt asked to see the Soul Phone. That argument he does not need to have right now.]
If there is someone capable of modifying the Forge, give them your Soul Phone. They would be able to figure it out.
[Not... that he would hand over his own, but they're useless here and there are Hollows on the loose. Desperate times call for desperate measures. It isn't as if there's anyone who would have need of them here, aside from the two of them.]
Retreat should the need arise and contact me. You are a shinigami, not a hero.
[AN enemy would not find anything pertinent on them. They're valuable on the battlefield for easy contact and Hollow tracking, but nothing more. He's willing to break protocol for the protection of the city.]
I shall contact you once I've fully assessed the situation.
...Byakuya.
Hollows. They're here, in the city...
There shouldn't be hollows here.

How are we going to find all of them in time? These are...they're small fry. Not even Menos.
And how are we going to know when new ones show up? Damnit, figures the Soul Phones not working would actually become a problem.

Don't plan on getting any rest.

Shiba, would it not have been wiser track the Hollows? Do not forget that the Natives are in danger as well, and do not use the Forge.
We should divide and handle the Hollows separately. This is our task.

At least it's a start.

Way ahead of you, there.
[And then he blinks. Scowls. Damn it Byakuya, can you not be an ass for five seconds. Bites his tongue on an irritable response.]
...Fine.
