What I use: Paint Shop Pro8 (psp8) and Animation Shop3 - both are made by Jasc. You can download free trials at their website (the newest version is pspX from what I understand), but that trial runs out after 60 days, and they log your ISP address so you can't re-download it. (I know, I tried.)
