PROP H8TE
There's been a lot of talk lately about Proposition 8 & it's been driving me insane. Uneducated people have been spreading all sorts of ignorant information. Prop 8 will NOT force gay marriage to be taught in school. I wasn't even taught STRAIGHT marriage in school so I have no idea what would make people think that. Prop 8 does not take anything away from heterosexual marriage. It doesn't require raising taxes. The world will not end. Get over yourself you hetero bigots. Homosexuals should not be treated as second class citizens. If gays are going to be forbidden the right to marry, we might as well go back to the Jim Crow era. Gay marriage is NOT a sin. Murder is a sin. Lying & cheating are sins. Loving someone is NOT a sin, last time I checked at least. Even if your god has something against sin, your god has absolutely NOTHING to do with our constitution or our government. Our nation was founded to escape religious persecution yet citizens of our nation are persecuting people for not living up to the standards of their religious beliefs. Hypocritical much? This is so ridiculous on so many levels. We are not a theocracy, we are a democracy. If you want to live in a nation whose laws are based strictly on the beliefs of your religion MOVE AWAY. Start your own country & leave ours alone. I'm very disappointed in the Californian residents who voted for Prop 8. Put your religious beliefs aside & imagine how it would feel to be forbidden to marry the person you love. Imagine how it feels to know that your fellow Californians think that you don't deserve to be happily married. If you want to protect the sanctity of marriage then prevent stupid celebrities like Britney Spears from marrying & then getting an annulment 48 hours later. Prevent stupid people from marrying & divorcing every 3 months. Stop being an ignorant bigot. Thanks.
