"when mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me"

HI EVERYONE!

for the very few of you who were curious and/or missed me, i once again have the internet! hooray!

i'll recap the past few months's worth of events for all of your enjoyment, cause i'm sure that's what you all want.

1. work is still pretty much the same. i'm getting a new full time employee (finally!) next week, and from what i hear, she is a hard-worker and good at her job, so she'll be a good addition to the crew.

also, we're opening a new store in late october/early november, so that means more trainees will be passing through my hallowed gates! i've already got the first trainee, a full-timer who is a pretty good-natured guy, if a bit slow to catch on sometimes. my immediate boss has made it clear that this kid has to step his game up if he's going to be a full-timer that's kept around, and is useful in the shop, so i guess that means i'm gonna have to get on top of this kid and really bust his chops. fine by me!

2. i've seen a handful of movies over the past couple months, and most of them were enjoyable.

-Julie&Julia: this was pretty good, especially the Meryl Streep/Stanley Tucci parts. anyone who's into food should see this, it was fantastic and inspiring and now i want to start my food blog even worse than i did before. damn, i need a digital camera.

-I Love You, Man: rented this and it was pretty good, some parts were hilarious and the whole thing was funny. Paul Rudd was SO AWKWARD through most of the movie, it was kind of unsettling. Rashida Jones is gorgeous.

-Funny People: me and Matt went to see this, and it was good. LONG, but good. it was like 2 & 1/2 hours long, but very funny throughout, and it's always good to see Jason Schwartzman in something.

-Fast & Furious: pretty awesome, as all of the movies in this series are (except for 2 Fast 2 Furious, which blew chunks). cool racing scenes, amazingly hot chicks everywhere, barely-scraping-by acting. everything you expect from the franchise.

3. my 25th birthday came and went in a swirl of happiness. i had to work, but got out at 5:30ish and went home and showered, and lazed around my room for a while. Megan called me and we decided to go out to eat at this little mexican place called El Tio, which i had been wanting to try for a while now. the food was great, i had some sort of steak dish whose name escapes me, but it was fantastic and perfectly cooked. it was honestly some of the best steak i've ever had. the little hole-in-the-wall joints are always the ones with the best food.

after that we tried to go to buffalo wild wings, but were turned away because they were already at maximum capacity for the UFC Fight that was happening that night. we went to a smaller sports/biker bar where i knew most of the staff instead, and had a blast. all in all, about a dozen people showed up and we shot pool and traded stories about rochester (a portion of my co-workers are from the are as well), and work in general.

that's about it, as long as i've been gone, i really haven't done anything crazy or especially noteworthy...sorry?
