My behavior the other night was indeed unacceptable. Had I known about your friend, the very conversation about illegal immigration would have been halted, but your personal connection to it obviously should have been respected and it wasn't. I think we started on the wrong foot, hell, probably on the wrong floor, but I do extend my deepest and heartfelt apology for offending you in anyway.
On a deeper note, what you say is absolutely true. To be correct, the actual story with the "la migra" is more , My dad wears the FBI cap, shouts out the window, and unfortunately, I was a willing accomplice. It was in Dallas, as well. The misunderstanding however does not undo the deed, and we probably offended many hard-working, loving men who are doing nothing else than trying to make a living to feed their families. Believe me when I say that I am not racist, I am probably just insecure. We both now, have mutual friends who are Mexican and Bengali, Catholic, Muslim, the whole bit. I consider them my best friends. And because they also consider you a friend, hopefully you and I can come to a better understanding, and maybe become friends as well.
Again, my sincerest apologies, and I hope we can start anew.

Wait - you have friends that are Bengali and Muslim? Can you introduce me?
It's always important to seek out people who may have experienced the same struggles as you in order to offer solidarity and support and let them know they are not alone in the racism they may have encountered in their lives. Especially being a Muslim right now, it's particularly important.
As someone who used to be a friend of yours, I'd love to meet who you filled that Bengali and Muslim emptiness in your life with. They are probably someone who hasn't yet realized that racism is intolerable, that your jokes stem from pools of bigotry far deeper than "humor", and that you are never going to change, no matter how deeply your friends believe and hope that you will.
I'm always looking to enlighten people, you know. I should fill them in.
Love, tam
oh. and p.s. "tamanna-itus" is something you should work on contracting. YELLING LA MIGRA? YOU ARE UNBEARABLE. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WORK ON THAT. thanks. peace out.
we don't need to start anew... you have your own views and i have mine and we will always argue about them... but you must remember: the Lakers won!!!!!!!!!! and that is truly what life is all about... the Lakers winning brings everyone together in peace and harmony except for when the fans riot and topple over police cars and shit, but who cares... fuck the police!
okay, on a serious tip... i am indeed guilty as charged of racist comments, whether meant seriously or as a joke, but i am trying to overcome all of that and educate myself... not that i ever considered myself racist before... as far as illegal immigration is considered, it is really a difficult subject for me, because while i do think people should enter here legally, i know circumstances sometimes prevent that... i don't think i could ever form an opinion on that issue... because i know if there was more force to make people enter the u.s. legally, i might never have met my friend... and obviously you could not be aware that i have a friend who is an illegal immigrant, but regardless i didn't find it funny, although you were really telling the story to danny, not me... and then with issues such as homosexuality between men, even though i think it should be accepted, i don't think i'll ever not be disgusted by two guys making out... and here again i have a friend whose dad, who was raised catholic, figured out he was gay after he had already married and had a kid, my friend, and by learning about all this from her and how she tried to stop other kids from using terms such as fag (the american version, of course, not the british meaning), i, myself, tried to stop saying things like that, even as a joke... i still slip up every now and then, and what is offensive to one person may not be to another... which doesn't mean we should censor ourselves and be so-called politically correct... just understand where each of us is coming from... i shouldn't have joked about the eyebrow thing... see? i didn't mean anything harmful by it, but i may have offended you... anyway, it's all a bunch of complicated shit, but there are times to discuss it and times to just maybe comment on it and then move on... we can't dwell on who's jewish and who's not during a Lakers game... and we have to laugh at people who get thrown off their bikes and cry about their arm and then say sir that feels good sir...
