Originally uploaded by xnera. Okay, this one was the worst. See that darker spot near my ankle? Imagine that being a deep PURPLE. Imagine the skin so thin that it would break and bleed as soon as I scratched it. Imagine it being so incredibly itchy that the skin was constantly being scratched off and regrown. The new skin would be as terribly itchy as the old. I'd try bandages, creams, lotions... nothing worked except time.

Originally uploaded by xnera. Color's just about back to normal! Yay! Yeah, pretty much the entire side of this leg was affected. It was a mess of scabs and scars and blood. The skin would be broken from me scratching; it would bleed and scabs would form, and then I'd pick the scabs off because they were itchy, too. I had long parallel scabs near my knee. The skin's a bit dry now and obviously pigmented, but so, so much better!

Originally uploaded by xnera. This one's almost totally normal! It was never as bad as the right leg, but I still had problems with itchiness and scabbing. The worst was a dime-sized CRATER that happened due to repeated picking at scabs. It was painful. I'd wince everytime I had to squat down as the scabs would crack and break.
