Mmm, just finished slurping down a sugar-free Strawberry jello…yum!
Hi everyone, my name is Natalie and I am a recovering food-aholic! You can probably go ahead and add “pasta-aholic” + “bread-aholic” + “cheese-aholic” to that list as well.
I started the South Beach Diet last week, Monday February 25th. So it’s been a week and I am very pleased with this plan so far. Like most overweight people in America, I have tried it all (do I really need to start listing all the plans I have tried? I think you are probably familiar with them). My problem with the past plans is that I can be super diligent and strong for a month and a half, following whatever it is I have to do…can lose some weight, but then I fall back into my old habits. Why? Because I am a creature of change. I can’t do the same thing, eat the same things, for a long amount of time - especially when I don’t see an end to it! Fortunately, I believe SB has brought a miracle into my life…the phases! I love it, love it, love it. I see the future and the long road ahead and it excites me! I think this is a great point in my life also because my best friend is has been working out and eating healthy, and she has long over 50 lbs! What an inspiration! Not to mention I heart cheese, no matter what form it is in!
I have been following the diet to a "T" and doing cardio at least 5 days a week, plus strength traning at least 3 days a week. I think I am in love with working out now!
So, here I go, starting my second week.
P.S. I really hate celery. Pretty much anyway you slice it. That stuff just tastes nasty!
P.P.S The user icon is because I really love Sylvester Stalone and he is my exercise inspiration! I really reccomend his book Sly Moves for some amped up work out routines!
Here is a Stallone/Rocky quote to get you going!
"... it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward.
That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! " - Rocky Balboa (2006)
