“Ok class, you have to do one more performance so that I can give you your marks for your progress updates and then, after lunch, we can start working for our unit 3 mock exam” Miss Smith, the drama teacher told the class.
“Sian, can you give out the books please”
“Ok” Said Sian and jumped up gracefully to get the books and everyone else went to get into their groups.
“Hello Sophie are you getting up?” Sophie’s friend Hannah asked. “What are you staring at?”
Sophie snapped out her daydream, “Oh nothing” she said and went to join her group.
“Hey who’s Sophie Webster?” Sian asked another girl in Sophie’s group
“Me” Sophie said quietly
“Oh sorry” Sian said and smiled beautifully at Sophie which made her heart race and have butterflies in her tummy.
“Oh wait I know you” Said Sian
“You do?” Replied Sophie hoping she didn’t sound to desperate
“Yer you’re the girl who was running for the bus this morning”

Sian casually strolled in 5 minutes late for class, not that Miss Smith really cared, “Hi Sian”
“Hi miss”...
Sophie looked at Sian and automatically started blushing. She was so beautiful and so cool, and she knew Sophie as the girl who ran like a numpty for the bus.
“Ok class, so as you know for Unit 3 of your Drama GCSE you have to do script work. I decided to do a play for the whole class as your mock exam. Your English teachers have told me that you are studying Romeo and Juliet in English so I thought we should do some scenes from that”
The whole class groaned in disappointment, they all thought it would be fun, unit 3 was the only unit where they didn’t have to write an essay but now they were stuck doing Shakespeare.
“What scenes are we doing miss?” Asked Sian
“The party scene at the beginning, the Death scene, the fight scene, oh and the balcony scene...”
“Umm miss isn’t there a kiss in the balcony scene”
“Indeed there is Sian”
“But this is a girl’s school”
“Yes it is”
“But that means two of us, us girls, will have to kiss”
“Yes, it will be a great acting challenge for you students”
By this time the whole class was silent, nobody wanted the main parts anymore, not if they had to kiss a girl...
“Ok so the parts are... Jenny is Romeo’s mum, Louise is the nurse, Benvolio will be played by...”
“Miss no offence or anything, but can you just tell us who’s Romeo and Juliet” Sian asked
Miss Smith laughed, “Ok Juliet will be played by Sian....”
“Oh miss please, I can’t kiss a girl, I’m not a lesbian...”
“Sian love, I think you have a lot of potential and I think this will be a good part for you, nobody said you had to be gay... right and Romeo will be played by...”
“Please not me, please pleaseeeee not me” Thought Sophie desperately
