Sophie, Sian and... Sean? chapter 10

Oct 24, 2010 16:14

So the last chapter was pretty dark so I tried (and probably failed) to make this one kinda funnyish so yer... I hope you enjoy. Decided to make it a 12 because although nothing happens in that way in this chapter it's still following off of the ideas from the last chapter.

Chapter 10

Sian

“Hi Vinnie, not interrupting anything am I” Owen said frowning at Sian

“No come in, have a beer, I can finish this off later”

“Charming” Sian thought as Owen entered and him and Vinnie settled down in front of the telly. Sian tried to go to her room but, “Oy don’t you go sneaking off anywhere”

"Great!" She thought sarcastically

Sean

Sean awoke to a constant beeping. “WTF?” He looked around and realised that he was in hospital hooked to some annoying machine.

“Oh so you’re awake then” Said a nurse

“What happened?”

“There was a fire at a town hall, you were in it, you nearly got killed, nothing special”

The memories starting flooding back to Sean; Sophie and Sian were there as a couple; some mad idiot had deliberately set fire to the building; he went back to help get the others out and now he was here.

“Hey, are the others alright”

“Mmm they got off pretty easy thanks to you”

“Oh that’s good”

“Mmm I’m going to get the doctor” Said the nurse expressionlessly and walked out.

Sean closed his eyes, thank goodness she was gone. Pictures of the fire flowed through his mind, there was a person in the distance, a person running, Sian wasn’t the only one who had seen, it was Vinnie!

“No” Gasped Sean

Sophie

“Sian please pick up” Sophie whispered as she dialled Sian’s number for the 10th time. Once again it went to voicemail. Sophie knew something must be wrong; she was really worried about Sian.

“Urgh I can’t stand this any longer” Sophie said out loud, she had promised Sian that she wouldn’t let anything happen to her but here she was, just sitting here doing nothing.

Sophie peaked downstairs, Kevin and Sally were both sitting in the living room, there was no way that she could sneak out. She went back into her room and looked out the window; no it was way too high. Unless she had a ladder, oh for goodness sake don’t be so stupid said the irritating little voice at the back of your head that you get when you’re about to do something stupid. Sophie ignored it. There was conveniently a ladder in her parents room, she never really knew why but at the moment she really didn’t care. She got it and somehow (I won’t go into detail because soaps don’t usually, with this kind of thing, explain how on earth that just happened) managed to get it into her room and out the window. And even more conveniently it was the perfect length.  So she stepped out of the window onto the ladder. “Woah that’s high up” Sophie exclaimed but somehow the window managed to slam shut so there was no turning back now. One step, two step, one step, two, whops nearly slipped there, whops really slipped there, Sophie was dangling from the ladder just holding on with her hands.

“Sophie, what are you doing?” Chesney asked whilst trying not to laugh, Sophie wasn’t high up enough for anything serious to happen if she fell so it was pretty funny.

“Oh nothing, just hanging around” Said Sophie and jumped off of the ladder.

“Oh ok then, bye” Said Chesney and walked home thinking how odd that was.

Sophie walked to the bus stop to realise that she had inconveniently forgotten her bus pass and any money. However, conveniently a cab pulled up with Sean in the back. “Sean are you ok?” Sophie asked.

“Yer I’m fine, I just distarged myself, what about you and Sian”

“Well I’m ok but I’m really worried about Sian”

“Yes, her dad started the fire didn’t he”

“How did you know?”

“Sian wasn’t the only one to see him, come on, get in, let’s go rescue Sian”
