do you believe in god?

i just can't bring myself to believe in "him" or "it", ive never seen "him" and why do i have to believe that some greater being created this earth, there are so many scientifically proven ways to figure out how it happened. and there are ways to prove other things (that some people think god created) scientifically also. of course there are some things that scientists havent figured out, but thats because they arent going to know everything. theyre human. i think god might have been something someone made up to help people, or make it so man has someone/something to look up to. like a child looking up to his/her parents. a role model, or hero. i also think religion was created to keep people in order. so things wouldnt get out of hand, so people would feel they have a belonging in life. in a way i think its all a good thing b/c some people need a following like that in their lives. it keeps them happy, it makes them feel as if they have a purpose. but i dont know, i guess i just dont need any of that to know i have a purpose in life. and yet at times i feel i have no purpose. and on the other hand, i feel as though religion brainwashes people to believe everything one person believes, and that if they don't believe the same as them, something bad will happen...crazy world we live in....
