I was back at school today to continue helping Mr. P number books. Kristy was the only other kid (besides Courtney, but that's obvious) that showed up.
It was a slow enough process to begin with, but after the assistant principal borrowed us for a couple chores, the book business was nearly at a stand still when we discovered someone took the stamp that apparently NEEDS to be on the inside cover of all the books.
I asked around all the departments and no one had the slightest idea where any of the stamps were. You know, I bet Mr. T took it. I bet he was angry we never returned it yesterday. xD
Anyway, I spent at least a half hour hunting for a stamp only to turn up empty handed (even after getting Mr. Beyersdorf to help me). I eventually wound up talking to Mrs. W, who said that she thought the books didn't even need a stamp because the district number was written on or something like that, but Mr. P was still a little skeptical about that until he went and looked at one of his government books from last year that didn't have a stamp, and apparently the world had not ended. WHOA, DRAMA. :)
So we numbered another hundred or so books (after finishing Mr. M and Mr. Bailey's orders: 160 and 35, respectively) without the stamp and Mr. P delivered them.
Mr. P is by far my most favourite teacher ever. He's just so fun. Like, we were numbering books (Kristy doing odds, me doing evens) and every once in a while we'd have to confirm to each other what number we're on, and Mr. P's just calling out random 3-digit numbers and we're like ... D:
[Heavy paraphrasing ahead]
Kristy: "Ok, so you're on... 356."
Mr. P: "That's 143 or 245, right?"
Me: "... (sarcastically) Exactly."
And he just bursts out giggling and I'm like Aw, I miss your class D: even though I like all the classes I'm taking this year. Well, actually I just found out Mr. N has a Modern Film & Lit class and I was like Piss! I'm stuck with Mrs. SoaS for two classes when that could be Mr. N?! But I guess I'll still live.
And yes, I'm taking advantage of all my days where Mr. Bailey doesn't yet know who I am.
Oh, and (and and and) I got two hugs today that were definitely not wanted. D: First was a side-hug from Mrs. K when she saw I was back to help with the books. She's just... not ok. She talks down to all the students like they're 5 years old and then rambles on about her "babies," aka golden-doodle puppies she recently acquired.
The second was from (guess, anyone?) Mrs. M (SADD director) It was like a frigging squeeze, too. I was like DO NOT WANT. D: Fuck me, I do not want to take part in any crazy introduction demonstration for the freshman.
Can't I just attend meetings and have you guys put my name on your t-shirts? Would that be cool?
Honestly, though, there's nothing better than working for Mr. P and listening to the oldies station (FTW!) that was coming over the speakers. T. Rex, Supertramp, Bowie, Rod Stewart, The Contours... does it get better than that? I giggled a bit when "Sexual Healing" - Marvin Gaye came on, but I was apparently the only one that was amused.
