Saturday night's all right for fighting
I don't think I'll ever understand these people who change the radio station from David Bowie to sports talk.
Today at dinner, Dino and dad were poking fun at the kids working at Burger King when Dino, unprovoked, says, "At least they have a job!"
Nice unnecessary low-blow out of nowhere. I didn't want to start anything just before dinner, though, so I grumbled audibly and gave the cold shoulder.
After dinner we went to a minor league baseball game, which was delayed because of the rain, and stood under the awning for 75 minutes before it was finally postponed.
While we were waiting, however, Nolan and I were encouraged to keep Dino company, but that didn't work out so well. The first opportunity she got she pointed out that the way Nolan and I were talking to each other made it look like we were on a date (???). After several minutes of awkward silence, I decided I would try to be polite anyway and asked her what she had majored in in college. She said she didn't; she only completed two years.
Verrrrry iiinteresting. I'd like to hear more about that story some day. I know it wasn't a money issue--her parents are relatively rich. Could this perhaps have something to do with her football star boyfriend she mentioned at dinner that almost got drafted...?
I'll admit, I'm curious only because I want to feel like I'm a better person than her.
