*snerk* Oh, man this left me laughing. Scott is such an adorable goof, being right at home with combat strategies but struggling with anything social. His newfound super bowling powers are awesome (and should definitely be used to defeat Magneto one of these days). I like the hints of something vaguely dangerous and out-of-control in Jean, too, even though it's resolved as something innocent here.

Well, they are doomed, sadly. But at least they can be cute and fluffy for now. Actually, based on how old they appear to be at the start of X-2, they probably had quite a few years of happiness together before it all went to hell, which is comforting. But ultimately the Phoenix is going to come out. :(
Anyway, I'm glad you liked the story!
And yes, obviously I have to write a sequel wherein Scott defeats Magneto through the power of bowling. ;)

I love, love Scott's confusion and shyness--and the fact that he can't help getting distracted by competitiveness when Jean starts warping the game. And what a wonderful mischievous Jean she IS, with the curfew-bending and the last-pin-toppling and the taking forever with the shoe-tying (and the wearing of an extra-cute bra on purpose) and best of all, the kicking with his own sneaker.
I like the flashback to Scott's last attempt at bowling, and the nod to the innocence of those days with the white pins, not yet striped with the red of carnality/violence/scary-hot redheaded girls.
Beautifully written, and many many tons of extra bonus squee for BATBOY. *loves you mightily*
