Amadeus, Kaci

Natalie sits on one of the picnic tables, her feet tucked up on the bench next to it as she lifts a bottle of water up for a long swallow. She's clearly been running in the cooler evening air - she's dressed in tight running shorts and a tank that leaves skin free to breathe, and her hair is braided down her back.

Amadeus has been running as well, though no where near Natalie, he's finally made his way to the area after running from god knows where. His black tanktop is stuck to his skin since he's worked up quite a sweat, and when he spots Natalie, he decides to walk over and take a seat on the bench, taking a long chug of blue Gaterade. "God, this training..."

Kaci comes out of the training facilities, wearing a flimsy sleeveless sun-dress. Underneath is a sports bra and her cotton training shorts. The girl rubs her arms in the cool air. She spots Natalie and Amadeus and waves, angling her trip to the dorms to pass by the pair.

Natalie smirks slightly, glancing over at Amadeus as she lowers her water bottle. "Too much for you?" she mocks, teasing.

Amadeus screws the lid on to his bottle, taking a deep breath as he looks over at her, though his eyes take a moment to actually get to her face, considering what she's wearing. "The super strength helps, but they say I'm more of a sprinter than a runner." he explains, lazily waving over at Kaci.

Kaci smiles warmly and stops near the table, bouncing a little to keep warm. "Hey Mad, Aletheia. Was a great afternoon, huh." Her dress is bright with pink and yellow flowers.

"Super strength that helps and you're /still/ complaining about the run?" Natalie answers, her eyes narrowing slightly as she tracks Amadeus' gaze. "Baby." She turns, tugging at the end of her braid as she looks toward Kaci. "Sure looked nice from the computer labs," she answers in greeting.

"I've never worked out a day in my life. Super strength comes natural, but then when I start all this working out..." Amadeus tugs on the shirt stuck to his chest. "Really shows me my limits, but I'm determined to get myself healthy."

Grinning at the conversation, Kaci asks, "Ok if I join you?" She swishes her skirts and rubs her arms.

Natalie turns her attention back to Amadeus for a moment, her gaze considering, before she glances away and lifts her shoulders in a shrug before she rolls them back in a lazy shrug. "If you want. I'm not staying long - just catching my breath and waiting to stop sweating before I grab a shower."

"Yeah, it's cool." Amadeus answers Kaci, before looking back over at Natalie, giving another quick once over, then asking, "Hey, um, is it cool if I compliment you?"

"How did all the computer research stuff go?" Kaci asks Natalie. Then she blinks at Amadeus, "For what? Wearing a dress? I started my workout in the sun this afternoon."

"It... continues to go," Natalie answers somewhat reluctantly, scrubbing at her face before she stretches her arms out behind her and leans into their prop, arching her back to pull her spine long.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Kaci asks softly. "Gofer work or something?" She pauses a heartbeat, then continues, "Its not that I'm bored or anything. I Just.. want to be useful."

"I was asking her, but your dress is nice too." Amadeus politely compliments, smiling, then locking on to Natalie arching her back with a bit of a reserved look. He doesn't want to seem /too/ happy about it. "I just wanted to say, um..." He clears his throat, only /slightly/ flustered. "You look nice today, Aletheia."

"Not really," Natalie answers Kaci, her tone apologetic and tired. "I mean, it's just pounding away at stuff - besides, you've got your plate full as it is, I'm sur--" Her words break off and she blinks, turning wide eyes toward Amadeus with her jaw somewhat unhinged. Once there, her eyes swiftly narrow, and she stares at him suspiciously.

Kaci ohs! softly and blushes a bit, "Well, um, OK. Thanks, Alethea. I'll see you around, Madcat." She bounces a bit and rubs her arms, "I'm going to go change."

"Ah, uh, I'll see you, Kaci." Amadeus coughs slightly, a bit awkward when Natalie stares at him. "I meant that in a very non-offensive way..." he nervously corrects, averting his eyes.

Natalie chooses, perhaps prudently, to completely ignore Amadeus' comment in favor of turning her attention and a smile on Kaci. "Don't let him rattle you," she advises. "He's just like that. See you later."

Kaci waves with a grin at the two of you and hops off quickly for the residences to change into something warmer.

"I don't think she's upset or anything, we watch movies and stuff every night." Amadeus points out as he calms down, when Natalie doesn't seem angry. "She probably thinks I'm trying to go out with you or something, so left us alone."

Natalie laughs at that, a short, disbelieving bark as she pushes herself forward and then unfolds her legs, sliding to the ground to stand. "She's observant," she answers dryly.

"I, um..." Amadeus' words seem to be stuck in his throat, completely caught off guard by that. "I should go back to running now."

"Good plan," Natalie answers, and with a lift of her hand in something almost like a wave, she turns to start up the path to the apartments.

Amadeus starts running, in a direction other than Natalie's. He has no idea where he's going, he's just flustered and wants to get away. "What just happened..."
