Besides Jamie obviously being all kinds of good for scientific raw material, why does Leonardo want to study/kidnap dupes?

Leonardo just believes Jamie needs to learn that dupes are expendable. He thinks that if enough of them did die, Jamie would eventually let go and possibly see the light, and help him of course. Also, dupe psychology makes him incredibly curious
