From: "Dr. Jean Grey" To: "L. Maxwell" Subject: Re: Copper Mesh Suit ----------
Mr. Maxwell, I'm afraid I may have unintentionally misled you as to exactly how much help I can be. I don't have a list of textile engineers in my back pocket, so I can't just dial a number and produce someone who can make up a bodysuit with copper mesh in it.
In any case, while I can understand your desire to protect your patient, it would be foolish to go ahead and start work on this without first seeing if the mesh gloves have any effect.
My advice to you is to start building your own network of researchers and contacts while waiting to see if the gloves are any help -- see what Columbia and the other universities of the area are conducting research in. Meet people. Talk to them. Educate yourself. I'd be pleased to offer advice and insights, to help review your plans, but if you're determined that you, yourself are going to take on the training of mutants in their powers, then I can't make your plans for you -- otherwise, I'm doing all the work I'd normally be doing, plus a little more to make you feel like you're doing well. I believe we're both worth more honesty than that.
I can offer one piece of advice free and clear, though -- don't be in such a hurry to completely negate the effects of your patients' abilities. Gloves may be a useful tool to help them function. A suit that negates all risk may simply serve to cripple their desire to learn control.
