=XS= The Yellow Suite - Visitors' Wing - Lv 3 - Xavier's School
Cheerful shades of yellow overrun this large room, but by dint of the decorator's art manage to avoid being painful to the eyes. The floor is bare parquet covered with a few rugs with sunflowers as a theme, and the walls washed in a light buttery tone, a sponge technique adding visual interest. A queen sized bed with a simple stained pine headboard occupies a space parallel to the door, the comforter and pillows in an abstract swirl of yellows and warm browns complement the curtains hanging on the two bay windows. Overstuffed chairs and a coffee table rest by the windows, creating a small sitting area, while a vanity with mirror sits opposite the bed. Doorways lead to a private bath and a walk-in closet, and an entertainment unit with a television has a desk with a network connection beside it.
A pair of twin beds have replaced the double of the room's desc, and on one of them, some more of Rogue's possessions from the apartment have been laid out. On the other one, a nervous Jubilation perches, nearly vibrating in place in anticipation. She was fixed. Rogue was fixed. What did /fixed/ mean? She keeps an eye on the door, though theoretically, she is watching a movie playing on Rogue's computer.
There are no trumpets fanfares, lights, sounds, preparation. When Marie D'Ancanto walks in she does it without flare. She is stiff, dazed almost with a small smile that only lays claim to her lips. Brown eyes remain dull, tired. Medical scrubs are still in order, slightly wrinkled from the long process of mind-surgery. "Hi," she breathes out to Jubilee, closing the door on the stuffy little nurse that was sent to watch her to her room. "M'back." Her voice crackles like years without seeing a very dear friend, though in reality it has only been a few days.
"Ro!" Jubilee catapults to her feet and stumbles toward her friend, catching herself before assaulting her with a full blown tackle.
Rogue makes up for any lost space. Where Jubilee catches herself, Rogue lets herself go. There is a small bounce into the embrace, Rogue pulling her friend in tight as she whispers fiercely. "Don't be a stranger, JubiFruit. It's me."
Jubilee flings her arms around the taller girl and smushes her face against Rogue's shoulder. "Roro..." she mumbles into the contact, sniffling loudly.
"Hey, Snuffleupagus," Rogue says soothingly to the other, brightness sparking into her eyes as she curls tightly into the other. "It's good to hear your voice."
Jubilee is the first to pull away, separating herself slightly so she can look up at her friend. "I brought some stuff from the apartment. Stuff I thought you might want."
Rogue tunes in carefully and painfully to her voice, stilling as her hands tuck back into her as Jubilee breaks the hug. "Thanks," she says, taking a minute to actually look away from the other girl. Eyes find the room with a wondering expression. "Two beds," Rogue comments hopefully.
Jubilee bites her lip and looks a little sheepish. "Yeah... I mean, unless you don't want ta room with me? I could always move to one of the other visitor rooms. Or... back to the apartment."
Rogue makes a small, bright squeak as she lets loose a small bap of the back of her hand to Jubilee's stomach. "Nu uh. Ah'm not even gonna let you out of mah sight. Not for a single minute." The girl gives an encouraging grin behind this. "Hear that? You're stuck with me."
Jubilee's countenance lifts and she smiles widely. "Not even to pee?"
Rogue wrinkles her nose and shoos the girl back, pushing her playfully back towards her bed. "Ew. Okay. Maybe."
Jubilee drifts back her bed and finally leans over to pause the movie, then drops onto the edge and stills to look at her best friend, searching for clues. "So... You're you? Totally?"
"I-- uh," Rogue begins, avoid looking at Jubilee for a second. She bends to her knees, no hesitation in letting herself appear vulnerable as she scoots closer to her friend. "Totally me. I can't... Jubes. I can't remember a lot."
Jubilee frowns and nods in completely solemnity. "What'd he /do/? Can you remember that?"
Rogue hitches her shoulder, bashfully crossing her legs and rolling her balance back a little. "The Professor?" she assumes with a small sigh. "Dunno really. Took everything-- one away. Don't worry about it." Rogue attempts a smile, half assing it into a weak twist of her lips. "Just tell me you missed me."
"Like missin' half m'heart," Jubilee assures her, eyes wide and dark and serious.
Rogue smiles a little slowly at this, searching and finding the seriousness of her best friend. She pushes herself forward, arms wrapping around one of Jubilee's legs with her cheek pressing to the side of her knee. "Ah know that feeling," Rogue whispers back with brown eyes locked up on blue.
Jubilee reaches down to lightly stroke Rogue's head, watching the brown and white hair fan out against the faded plaid of her draw-string pants. "We're gonna be okay now, Ro. I promise. Everythin's gonna be fine."
"I know," Rogue supplies back easily. Breezily, in a sense, with confidence usually kept at bay. "We're gonna have a fun summer." She squeezes the leg in her grasp as she digs her eye into Jubilee's kneecap.
Jubilee slips off the side of the bed to settle on the floor next to Rogue, wrapping her up in a hug that is finally fully reassuring.
