The Disney Effect was amusing. Since no-one seemd to be feeling anything more than irritated and a little inconvenianced, I was willing to write it off as some new little girl-mutant just trying out her powers, work to find her, but not get too worried about anything. (And hey, rather less than kindly, it wasn't affecting me.)
Now?
Last night, Hank was talking to his coffee mug briefly. I thought he was just clowning a bit, until this morning. Take a look at my LJ friends list. Wall to wall with accounts of people I know reporting that not only do they look different, their behavior, personality and even in some cases (xmm_rogue, come see me.) memory is now being affected.
This is not something a newly manifested mutant does. The thing with first manifestations is that they're typically highly-visible, but also highly short. New mutants just lack the focus to keep going and going like this. Also, if this is a Dreamweaver at work, and I don't see the signs pointing another way so far, this level of psionic manipulation is definitely something you don't see in a first outing.
But if it's not a little girl... then who?
I'm posting a copy of this to SchoolNet, and a reworded version out on MediNet in case any of my colleagues have been seeing cases. I'll whistle up the media if I have to. Anyone who's been affected? Report to me or Dr. MacTaggart, stat. We've both got tests we'd like to run.
