Between the rows of cots and blankets, Cassy paces back and forth keeping watch on the curtain barriers which seperate the boys from the girls. Dark lines surround the telekinetic terrors eyes and while normally she would spring the teenage redhead has been reduced to slowly stumbling around. Someone most definately hasn't been sleeping well.

Amp has a watchful air, and dark circles of her own, but she also has the manner of someone a bit better at conserving energy in the waiting periods. She comes to curl up in a corner with a sleeping bag, but Cassy's pacing catches her attention, and she sighs finally. "Sleep before I knock you out," she says, coming up to the younger girl.

"But then who'll keep watch?" Cassy replies, nodding in the direction of the door that's somewhere beyond the lines of curtains. "Or are you going to try tell me you have utter faith in the teachers looking after everyone?"

"I will," Amp says, tugging at her bracers, and rubbing at her eyes. "That's the point of a watch, you switch off sometimes."

Cassy narrows her eyes at Amp, then after a moment nods. "Maybe that'd work," she admits. "I've had this idea... but you'll probably think it's stupid."

"Worked well enough to keep us out of his clutches before." Amp shrugs. "And Jason's around, too." She eyes Cassy. "What idea?"

"Some of us have been talking," Cassy replies, glancing around suspiciously. "We think we should arrange to watch out for each other, but they need someone to be in charge." She bites her lip for a moment, then with a shrug adds "I'm going to be in /way/ too much trouble after the uhm misunderstanding. So I thought maybe you should do it."

Amp smiles slightly. "I'd have suggested it myself, but I'd have thought no one would want to listen to me. Walter thinks I've cracked under the pressure or something."

Cassy laughs softly. "Like that'd stop anyone around here?" she reminds. "I mean people follow my plans even when /I/ know they're doomed. I'll let everyone who is trustworthy know, but it's got to be subtle or else the teachers are going to kick off about it."

"Who are you counting as trustworthy?" Amp asks in curiosity. "We'll probably want to work out our escape plan better, for when he shows back up, too."

"Uhm, who shows up?" Cassy wonders. "Mostly people my age or above with usefull mutations, but who won't rat us out."

"Not Nate or Tobias." Amp glares at the ground. "The Magneto from my world. He's probably subverted someone here, and he always has other mutants working for him."

"Or Walter," Cassy adds, then she blinks a few times. "Magneto from your world? Why on earth would he be here?"

"Why not Walter?" Amp snorts. "He's dumb, but not that dumb. Same reason I'm here. Fatter pickings. Or trapped here, either way."

Cassy rolls her eyes. "Because the first thing he'll do it try rat everyone out and the second would be to do something dumb and put everyone in danger. Like say running off into the woods without any clue what he was doing." She tilts her head. "I meant here at the school, what could he possibly want from us?"

"The girl he killed to power his machine. There's another one here, isn't there?" Amp shrugs. "Or we're just fun to play with. I think he enjoyed taunting the Grey woman in Haven. I can't tell how much is him playing, and how much is Jason keeping him from doing the more serious stuff he wants to do."

"Attacking mutant kids doesn't really seem like Magneto's style," Cassy points out, rubbing her eyes. "And Rogue was living in the city when the ghost stuff started up. If it wasn't for people getting kidnapped she wouldn't have come back."

"I know Magneto." Amp crosses her arms, stubborn.

Cassy crosses her arms in reponse, standing on her tiptoes. "You're saying the Magneto in your world would have nothing better to do than lurk around trying to scare little kids?"

"It's probably part of some fucking plan. I don't know how his mind works!" Amp holds her arms more tightly.

"So you know Magneto, but you actually don't and can't think up any reason he'd be doing this?" Cassy says with disbelief. "Please don't make me have to agree with Walter here Amp, you could at least come up with a plausable thing to get freaked out about."

"Fine. Organize your own fucking watches." Amp turns to go.

Cassy shakes her head and sighs. "And people say /I/ can sound crazy."

"I am not crazy!" Amp turns back to shout it.

"Then try not to act it then," Cassy suggests, calmly turning away from Amp. "Because you're not convincing anyone talking like that."

"You're the one who can barely stand up from needing to sleep." Amp is sneering now. "And I'm the crazy one? I've been here before, I know what I'm talking about."

Cassy laughs softly. "Not sleeping doesn't make you crazy," she points out. "Ranting about an invisible person fighting to stop Magneto scaring a school full of kids /does/."

"Jason's not invisible." Amp sneers it. "He does /illusions/." She snorts. "And lack of sleep does make you crazy, science has proved it." She bites her lip, fidgeting ramping up with the accusations. "If you were gonna come out, now would be a good time," she hisses to the air.

"Science also thought moving stuff with your mind was impossible," Cassy points out, turning round to face Amp. "Was there any proof he's really real? If you can give even a tiny bit of proof..."

"I--" Amp draws in a hitched breath. "I /know/ he's here. I can /feel/ it."

"And I can see sparkly blue lights," Cassy says sadly, holding her hand up to cover a yawn. "Doesn't mean they're really there."

Amp comes over to put a hand on Cassy's shoulder. "Sleep." She pushes her to a cot. "Even if we don't agree what I'm watching for, I can still be watching, right?"

Cassy grudgingly sits down. "I guess so," she agrees reluctantly. "But if anything bad happens wake me, okay? Even if it's Magneto. Hurting Doctor Grey and Tim crossed a line and I'm /totally/ gonna make whoever did it regret it."

"You and everyone else. Sleep!" Amp gives Cassy a wan smile, and then moves out of conversational distance to stop distracting the girl from her orders.

Cassy nods, sprawling out on the cot for a few hours of restless sleep.
