I hate that I didn't post this sooner.
R.I.P Lt. Charles "Chip" McCarthy and Firefighter Jonathan Croom.
They are two firefighters who I died on Monday in a burning building. Unfortunately there was no one else inside when it caved in and they lost their lives. There was a huge funeral service for them today and I wish I could have gone.
We're watching the news now and I'm nearly in tears.
Fireman's Prayer
When I'm called to duty, God, wherever flames may rage.
Give me strength to save a life, whatever be it's age.
Help me to embrace a little child, before it's too late.
Or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout.
And quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.
I wnt to fill my calling and to give the best in me.
To guard my every neighbor and protect their property.
And if according to Your will,
I have to lose my life,
Please bless with Your protecting hand, my children and my wife.
Thank you, for giving your lives for us.
