Two months later...

Pete’s P.O.V.

As Patrick and I walked out of Robertsen Rehab Facility after my little suicide attempt , I thanked God he had been there when he was. I owed him my life. I felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off me; my depression was pretty much gone, which meant the constant dark cloud over my head was too. Having not told Patrick how I felt until recently had also been weighing me down, but not anymore. Having him love me back helped too.

March 2007

Pete's P.O.V.

‘Ok, we have called you here today to, well, discuss something." Patrick said formally. I kind of wanted to slap him.

"Cut to the chase, Trick."

"Ok, um -" I cut in.

"We’re dating now." I said curtly. Andy had kind of a constipated look on his face and Joe was suppressing a laugh.

"Pete!" Patrick whapped me on the shoulder.

"What? I told them the truth! Better than hemming and hawwing ...’ Hmmm....What’s the best way to put this?’ Just say it!" Patrick rolled his eyes but he knows I like thing short and to the point. We balance each other out. Andy had lost the constipated look and was now squirming uncomfortably in his seat. Joe’s laugh finally escaped.

"So do you guys, like kiss and stuff?" Leave it to Joe to ask the most obvious question in the world.

"Errr..." Had he not heard of Brokeback Mountain?

"Yes. Would you like a demonstration?" I said, as if I discussed guy kissing every day.

"NO! Thank you very much." Andy said quickly.

"Ok, but the offer is on the table." Patrick elbowed me. I, of course, elbowed him back harder.

"Oww.." he whimpered.

" So how did this...come about?" Andy asked, looking slightly weirded out.

"It just sorta...happened." Patrick said. I suppose that was true. Joe couldn’t seem to grasp the idea of Patrick and I dating, like in was some sort of foreign language to him.

"Are we, like, being Punk’d?" Joe asked. Patrick groaned.

"No, we are not being Punk’d. Pete and I are in love. That is it. There are no hidden cameras." Patrick said, exasperated. Jeez.

"Oh." Joe said, finally wrapping his head around it.

"But could you guys please not demonstrate kissing in front of us. Or me, at least?"

"Yeah." I said, knowing how hard that would be on tour.

"Can we..um, go now?" Andy asked feebly.

"Mmhmm...." I said, clapping my hands together dismissively. Joe and adny fled the room like their butts were on aflame. I turned to Patrick.

"Well, that went well." He remarked bitterly.

"C’mon, it wasn’t that bad. It could have been worse" I said, taking his hand.

"Yeah, Andy could’ve brought a barf bag." he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Sorry. I’m just a bit pissy today." I scoffed. "Ok, a lot pissy."

"Eh, it’s all right. I’m pissy every day."

"Not true. You’re pissy almost every day." He corrected. I laughed weakly.

"You know." I said wistfully. "Showing up at those parties every night, a girl on each arm. It didn’t feel right..."

"Yeah." he said, his tone matching mine, although he wasn’t much of a party person and usually went stag, believe it or not.

"I love you, buddy."

"I love you, pal." he joked, playing along. I was about to kiss him when, remembering Andy’s request, turned to check the door. The coast was clear. Patrick gave me a funny look. I wrapped my arms around him.

"Are you wearing my cologne?"

"Maybe."

"Smells better on you than it does on me." I kissed him, savoring the taste of his lips on mine.
