Today was sad. It was the last day that we'll get to see the 7th graders and the teachers. At the end of the day, they had a thing called "Memory Minutes." That's when if you had written it out first, talk about something that you remember from the year, and can say stuff to people. Only about 5 people wrote one, but it still left people crying. I regret not writing one.. So I am going to write one now. I know a lot of the people I mention will probably never read this, but its the thought that counts I guess.
First of all, I think this has been a really good school year over all. There have been some rough parts, but over all it was pretty good. I have a lot of good memories of things that have happened this school year. First of all, when I first came here I was really nervous. I didn't know anyone, and I didn't have any of my friends from Gilford with me to make it any better. But.. even as I was at the busstop on the first day, we got to know eachother. And her brother Vinny a little. There was also Lindsey who soon became friends with me.. then others. The Fall Overnight was pretty good. Larrissa and I were tent buddies. We hiked around.. which was kinda hard I guess. That night, at the campfire.. Mr. Murphy did his dance and chant thing he learned while he was in Africa. It was really funny and he had everyone sing it too. Then they started telling a story of a guy who was afraid of fire and has been spotted at that camping area. Someone came out of the woods screaming and Larrissa grabbed on to me and everyone (mostly) screamed. They also let people do little skits and sing songs which was fun. When we had to go back to our tents to go to sleep, Larrissa said she thought she heard/saw something in the woods. I screamed and grabbed onto her.. We both thought that was pretty funny. Then there's all the Friday hikes we've had.. going through lots of mud and bushwacking. There have been some fun times doing that. One time we all had to build shelters for the Winter Survival unit. Kirsten and Emily M. and I built ours on a bank, it went in deep and we made Emily the one with the broken leg and built the thing thats supposed to carry her out of too big, long stick and put them through our backpacks. We put her on it and it worked good. We also made a hole in the ground which is were the fire was supposed to be. We put sticks over it to keep snow from falling in and to cook stuff on. We were the only group that would have survived Murphy said, so we got atleast a %100. Another thing that happened was once on one of our extended hikes, Larrissa and Olivia wondered off down the wrong trail at a fork. The ended up running back and didn't get back to us until the end of the trail at the school. On the last trip, the Spring Overnight.. I believe it was the most fun. The group I was in was with Jordyn, Sam, Tia, and Megan, as I had mentioned before in an earlier entry. It was a hard hike up, but once we got to the hut we got to play Bullshit a few times. There was a really cute guy in the hut crew.. so Jordyn and I would look at him a lot.. but sometimes he caught me looking! :P On the hike up Cannon Mt., the first part was pretty hard. But... at halfway or a little past halfway, it was straight up rocks. So we had to climb up. It would have been like.. impossible to do without using hands. We all had a lot of fun on that part.. and it was not tiring at all. It was a really nice view when we got to the top. On the day we had to go back.. we got back early so we got to be the only group that got to be driving around to places. We went to the Flume and the Basin. We knew we were going to be late.. so Megan and I ran up hill and ran to where everyone was when we got there. Turns out though, they were not waiting for us. Some people's stuff had been broken into and stolen and their truck had been wrecked and his dad had sprained his ankle so both of them were still on the mountain. We eventually got back though, and in time for the busses.
I'm now going to say a few things to people, and how they have helped me and been there for me.
Jordyn, you have been my friend since the begging. You've always been there to tell me what we're supposed to do and what our homework is and to just talk to. you're really fun to be around and make me laugh atleast once a day. "Do you want to go on a camping trip?!" Great times.
Sam, I havn't been your friend the whole school year, only about half. But that whole half of the school year has been fun. You're funny too, and I know I can trust you with things.
Lindsey, we have been friends since early in the school year. You are really funny and I'm going to miss you and your weird sayings like "Love is Vengeance" and all those others. You're a really nice person.
Tia, we have not been friends for all that long. But, I have had some fun times with you. You're a really nice person and fun to be around. It's going to suck without you around in highschool.
Megan, we have been friends on and off, but you're a nice person and fun to hang around too. You're party was great. Won't be the same without you around in highschool.
Larissa, I know we aren't that much of friends, but I think you're a really cool person. You're funny and I had a lot of fun with you on the Fall Overnight. I'll miss you being around in highschool.
Marc, Gunnar, and Isaac, you guys are cool. A lot of fun times In gym, facs, and Spannish and music for Marc and Gunnar.
Ben D., fun times at the beggining of the year when we were more friends.. Was fun at Six Flags. Going to miss all your jokes and Brittish accent you do sometimes next year.
Jon K and Andrew M, a lot of fun times on the bus earlier in the year when we talked more.
To the teachers, you have all helped me so much. I've learned stuff in all your classes, and I don't know if I would be who I am without you all.
Mr. Murphy aka "Murph Dog", you're a fun teacher and your science class, basecamp, and WEB are all fun.
Ms. Mack, you are really funny and a good teacher. I'm going to miss all of your collage stories and dorm pranks you tell us. A lot of fun times in math class.
Ms. Jarnot, you're a good teacher and cool too. I'm going to miss your jokes and sayings.
Mr. Veins, you're a good team leader and a good teacher. I'm going to miss your occaisional jokes.
