Female, young, American, Charles notes. He doesn’t stop. He’s the only one in the street so it must be him she wants (unless she's hallucinating) but he needs to get back to Raven.
“Excuse me! Professor Xavier!”
That stops him. He turns around. The woman is trying to run to him and she’s staggering, her eyes are bloodshot and she’s pale as a dead woman.
“You’re diseased, Madam.” He tells her, catching her arms when she reaches him to stop her from falling. “I’m so sorry. There’s nothing I can do.”
“No.” She tells him, and grips his arms with much stronger fingers than he would have expected. “No, I’m over the worst. I had to find you. I need your help, Professor.”
“Charles.” He tells her, unsure. Her mind tells him that she’s telling the truth, though, and also that the help she thinks she needs has is probably now redundant if the reports of the USSR are true.
“Yes.” She says, and then, “Moira.”
She holds out her hand to shake and he takes it, more to keep her upright than for the sake of a pleasantry. “Pleasure.” He says. “You’re CIA.”
“Yes.” She says, and then takes several steps back from him in surprise. “No, I didn’t tell you that.” She takes another step back and nearly falls off the pavement. Charles takes a step forwards to help her but she holds up her arms as though she’s going to fight him off, so he holds up his own.
“Lets do this somewhere more comfortable.” Charles suggests, and pushes the idea inside her head.
“Yes.” She says, and they walk companionably back to his apartment.
“Who the hell is she?” Raven asks, voice muffled by the mask. She flails her arms enough to make her point. “You can’t just bring back random girls anymore, Charles.”
Charles steps between them and smiles, as calm and collected as he can be. He steadies himself with a hand on the wall. He’s still feeling a little weak, too.
“This is Moira MacTaggart.” Charles tells Raven, looking her as much in the eye as he can and willing himself to stay upright. “She needs our help, Raven. Also,” He smiles at her. “She’s going to get us back home.”

A/N: Oh my god, anon, this is going to be so ridiculously long. I'd apologise, but... as long as I finish it I'm sure you're not too unhappy about that ; ) The title is taken from the song 'Province' by TV On The Radio. Yeah, this might turn out to be a bit of a !verse. Um. Oops? Thank you for the prompt, and I'm sorry this bit is so small. I spent a lot of today planning this out, so. It will get a lot lighter. Thank you! Hope you enjoy it, though I know there's not too much to enjoy just yet. <3

But seriously, this is gorgeous and completely amazing, full of all the small details that make this completely believable, and already the characterization is awesome -- I can completely *see* both of these guys and their stories in my head and just... ahhhhhhh this is wonderful. <3

Also, I love the stuff with Eric and Sebastian -- and I'm dying to see where that goes, wow.
