A tribute to Summer '06
A Tribute to 3 of the Most Amazing Months of My Life
Summer has come and gone yet again. By far, this summer was definitely one of the most amazing of my life. Here's to camping for the first time, going to Wyoming, my surgery, The Holiday Inn, My boys, The House, Jose Cuervo goggles, random hookups, learning to let go, learning to not care what people think, and learning to finally be honest, saying good-bye to friends that moved on, Starbucks, going to get ice cream, and simplicity. And oh-so-much more. It would take days to write.
Forever embedded in my mind will be the view from Matt's, Steven's, Joe's, and Tyler's. Sitting up on the deck, smoking and talking about EVERYTHING. Looking at the sunsets, the lightning, and sitting in the rain. The most beautiful nights of my life. Playing Dead Rising and Guitar Hero. Meeting new people. Mending old friendships, and even ending some old ones. Learning more about myself than ever. Without that house, summer would have never been the same.
I'll never forget anyone that was part of it. Even if things ended badly, I still care about everyone and I value the time I spent with them. Now it's time to throw myself back into school. It's top priority. No more parties for a while. Next summer won't be the same. I'll be ready to move on and go to college. I don't even know where life will take me. I want to move to Seattle, but we'll see. Money will be hard to come by, but it's something I really want to do.
It will be hard to leave my family and friends. But it's something I feel I have to do. I've been here my whole life--I'm very comfortable. I want a culture shock. I want something new, something different. Even if God brings me back to Utah, at least I'll have tried something new and know it's completely right for me.
I'll miss the summer.
