CHURCH
I don't know why.. I just feel like writing about this.
Growing up in a Christian home where both of my parents are Revs it was kind of hard to "rebel" and not go to church. I never had a problem though... anywho as I grew and moved away I guess i did. I strayed as far away as I could from church and God. Honestly, as sad as an excuse as this is I felt like i needed a break. I wanted to separate myself from what I was taught and what I REALLY was.
So i used the whole- "I'm new to the area-- haven't found the "right" church yet" to let me sleep in late on sunday mornings. Well, I started missing it. I missed real friends with the same beliefs. A place where i could go for encouragement and where i can find people who back me up in good and bad times.
So a friend suggested that I visit his church. Well, hesitantly I got up and went. let me just say WOW! The power of God is awesome and nobody should live without it. I mean He should be like air. He is a must have! I love my Lord and Savior and church is such a great place to go praise his name.
People there didn't know me but you know what-- that didn't matter. numerous folks came up and said " we are happy you could be here today". People were wearing just about a little bit f everything. some n scrubs from work some in dresses and suits, other in jean s and t-shirt. Really brought the verse that says " come just as you are..." you know?
I can't imagine living life wihtout having God in it? He is always there no matter what. Unfortunately sometimes we only seek Him in our Hard times. you always hear stories where people tell about a tragic event and then follow by saying " that's where and when I found God". Well, there is nothing wrong with that but imagine the joy one can have if you have God... you don't have to look for him ... in a time of happiness! It's just awesome!!! everything you have today is because of Him. the air you breathe the things you do all of it is because of Him. He knows the number of hairs on your head! that my friend is no majic trick.
sometimes i think about what the day will be like when He comes back. I mean I know prophets and all have wrote about it and the Bible itself explains it in detail buti don't think the human mind can really capture what it is going to be like. EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW DOWN TO HIM. why don't we do that now? we should be.
I know many people don't consider themselves believers or whatever but to say that you are or that you are not you are acknoledging that He is there.
I don't know why one wouldn't want to be on Gods side. Helllloo we know how things are going to end. HE WINS!!! why would you want to be on the other side of that??? oh wait maybe its the whole being parched and thirsty and hot and burning and miserable for eternity--- yeah that sounds like a blast! Definitely not for me!
I also believe that those that don't want to be believers are wimps... you have given into a secular culture. Great times now--- but what about later... then what? not to be rude but what about you think that over during your eternity in hell. once again not for moi.
I do believe that one should belive whatever you want to - im jsut telling you what i believe. I believe in my God all mighty. the one who sent his son to die on the cross for MY SINS!!! MINE!!! what I did he paid for them.... know how when you go out with friends how sometimes you feel awkward letting them pick up the tab. Now imagine Jesus hanging on the cross.. HE picked up your tab for all your wrongs WITH HIS LIFE!!! There is no greater sacrifice!!!!
That is why I will continue to go to church and worship Him among believers who feel the same way. My new church is great. many of the families are adopting kids form all over the world to allow them to have better lives - sounds familiar huh? I thought so. They sponsor several missionaries all around while still making sure that their own community is having needs met. how awesome is that?
