So.
My iMac G5 - the greatest device man has ever seen - is running Apple's "FrontRow", so using a remote control that works from anywhere in the house, I can watch my library of TV Shows, Movies, use iTunes, slideshow photos, and watch DVDs. On the iMac display, without leaving bed.
Now - the G5 is wirelessly connected to my XBox360 - a room away. So the XBox360 now has a constant live stream of iTunes, which I can also seperate into 2 channels - allowing my room to have some songs, while the living room speakers blast a different playlist (but both coming off the same external hard drive and Mac). In addition, the XBox360 can now live stream a slideshow of any photos on my computer, and also stream any videos in WMV format. Unfortunatley, WMV is the devil so I dont have much, but Im converting some movies to play via the 360. Of course, if the 360 never supports any sort of MP4, I'll have TV soon enough that will stream a playlist, wirelessly of course, to any HD TV i designate in range.
Now the Nintendo Wii. The Wii is now wirelessly hooked up to the internet, with Wii Internet Browser shortcuts installed to make showing a group of people gathered in my living room videos on YouTube via my TV, instead of making everyone gather around the computer in my room. Also, its set to auto-load FineTune, an amazing music player (www.finetune.com) that actually has a Wii Player, and streams playlists built by my friends and I with totally random mixes each time. It could be my favorite thing ever - and if you sign up PLEASE send me your username so your mixes will pop up as I do stuff around the house.
So, add this to the Airtunes speakers which will be mounted outside as soon as the snow melts (which, of course, will stream ANOTHER iTunes playlist to those specific speakers - meaning my room, the 360, and the outdoors can ALL have different music), and the fact that once the new TV gets here, the current one moves upstairs to finish off the game room (complete with it's own set of Airtunes speakers - so now we have 4 possible music areas ;) ) - and the fact that the 360 down here will be able to play games with the XBoxes upstairs...
