The Patterns of the Leaves
Haven't been doing very much lately.
I spent the night at Kody's with Miles Kord and Allie not too long ago...it was chill being there again, it had been a long while.
But overall I think this summer has been extremely boring so far.
Perhaps that will change? Perhap.
I certainly hope so!
I traveled down a mountain path but my direction was askew
I stumbled off the treaded grass while lost in thought of you
The scenery entranced my eye, entranced my mind's eye too
So I sat atop a log to think and tied my undone shoe
The laces seemed like lifeless snakes, refusing a bow and knot
but finally I conquered them and lost my mind in thought
tuned in to nature's sweet harmony
the chorus of the wildlife set my heart at ease
soft winds carried a message to me
and I for one admire most the patterns of the leaves
As I find everything in place, I come to a lagoon
and what did I see other than a waiting canoe
the choice for me already made, I made my way on in
and down the water's channels we traveled as old friends
It all seems familar to me
but things are different when at peace
The pale blue sky hanging above is just a canopy
covering this green terrain from things unknown to me
tuned in to nature's sweet harmony
the chorus of the wildlife set my heart at ease
soft winds spoke and whistled to me
and I for one admire most the patterns of the leaves
A different path, a different day
all destinations the same
a place where heaven is witnessing a simple sunrise
a meditation of head and soul with open eyes
I looked in all directions but all directions were the same
everything seemed as one and I could not contain
the overwhelming smile
the one I haven't felt in quite a while
constantly sustaining through every circumstance
and as the day grew darker I still stayed
the night brings out a whole different life
and it seems after all I never lost my way
oh where do we stop
I could linger on this hill forever
but oh time goes on
and I must carry this beauty with me everywhere
