i just finally found out that kurt vonnegut died wednesday.
and i don't know why i'm posting exactly, except that this is important.
i'm glad i got to read some of his books while he was alive.
i'm in the middle of my sixth book by him right now.
i got hooked about one page into the first one i read (Breakfast of Champions). i immediately felt that i had to get my hands on every word he'd ever written.
i'm really glad i still have a long way to go on that. He wrote a lot of books.
this guy had it all figured out. all of it. and now he's dead.
and it feels huge.
and it's past my bedtime, so maybe i'm being less coherent than i mean to be.
The first thing i thought of when i heard was something i read two weeks ago in God Bless You, Dr. Kevorkian, a little bit of atheistic, humanist humor:
"And if I should ever die, God forbid, I hope you will say, 'Kurt is up in Heaven now.' That’s my favorite joke."
