So I'm between jobs again, which at this point I suspect is how I'm going to live the rest of my life, and honestly, I don't have a problem with that. I got offered a permanent position for 45K a year but I make significantly more than that at these contract jobs and only work 9 or so months out of the year. Some people value security, some money, I value flexibility, which allows me to travel and do other things that really make my life amazingly good. Anyway, it is good I am not working now because next week I am taking my mother to Orlando for her birthday. She wanted to see Harry Potter World, so off we go for 3 days in Orlando. I'm aiming for 4 trips this year. It's looking like Austin might be the next destination. Though technically, there will probably be trips to Vegas and Catalina first, but I don't count those as real trips.
In other news, I moved last month. Still same town, just different residence which unfortunately is now an apartment. Here's what I don't get - in New York I lived in a nearly hundred year old building and never really heard my neighbors unless they were doing something like living room bowling. Now, in this brand spanking new, high end apartment complex all I do is hear everything the neighbors do. Fucking shoddy craftsmanship. It also doesn't help that no one picks up their dog's shit. It's disgusting and reminds me every day that I live in fucking ghetto trash central. Seriously, this town has no class. However, the up swing is less people and things cost less. You gotta take the good with the bad I suppose.
