I'm going to post more. I got into the habit of thinking, "well I have nothing interesting to say." Yeah, well maybe so but who said I had to be interesting? I'm going to blog what I feel like without caring whether it's of consequence to anyone else. With that in mind, I am going to talk a bit about the Amazing Race.
I'm so happy Nat and Kat won. They were always my favourite and seem like genuinely nice people (My favourite moment of the season was when major dick Chad was yelling about how Nat was so stupid and her PhD wasn't helping her very much and there's a cut to Nat's deadpan "I have a MD."). Of course, it is also awesome that an all female team finally won. However, some of the bitching after about how this season was easier just so a female team could win has been annoying. Though if taken in the derogatory way that it is obviously meant, shouldn't an easier season mean the males had it easier too and should have kept winning? Anyway, I thought
a comment by Kat was really interesting on that subject. Nat is saying how she thought the final flower task was kind of easy, and Kat then says but Thomas struggled with that, "so maybe instead of saying it was more female friendly, maybe it was just a little more fair." I think that is very valid. So often we forget how the default in our society is male dominated i.e. a hard task is one that requires great physical strength. So I hop[e the Amazing Race continues to have a diversity of tasks that require all sorts of skills and not just strength and athleticism.
