Bomb the Music Industry!/ Patent Pending last night

So much fun. I drove up with Glenn and we met SQZN and her mom there.

+ Patent Pending covered Dammit with like half of BTMI!
+ Patent Pending also covered "I Want It That Way." Yes, the Backstreet Boys song.
+ Full band BTMI! as opposed to just Jeff, a bassist, and his computer
+ After BTMI!'s set, Jeff came down to the crowd and we all had a sit down to "discuss the positive and negatives" of the show, which was highly amusing. During this, Patent Pending stole their instruments and everyone covered All The Small Things and a few other songs.
- One of these songs was "When I Come Around" by Green Day. The bassist didn't know the bass part, so he just played along with the guitar part which annoyed me to the point of almost going on the stage and asking to play the bass.
+/- Jeff Rosenstock played part of like 4 different blink-182 songs which was cool but would have been so much more awesome if he/ the band played the whole songs.
+ Included in Bomb the Music Industry's full band was a mandolin. They played most of "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" (Dropkick Murphys)
+ BTMI! drummer was SO good.
+ Talked to J-Ro for a while with SQZN, SQZN got another J-Ro hug, as did I, but 'tis more important to her
+ Joe! from Patent Pending is still really really awesome. Easily one of the most consistently nice people I've met. Once again he got really excited when he saw SQZN/ her mom/ me.

I've never seen Patent Pending or BTMI! play any covers before (6th time seeing Patent Pending, 3rd time seeing BTMI!), so it was especially awesome that they happened to be blink covers. Good to know some of the bands I listen to share the same blink-182 nerdyness as me. Also, there were two other bands; In The Time of Dinosaurs and Math the Band. ITTOD was good, but I was too distracted by foosball (google says that's how you spell it) to watch them. Fucking SQZN beat me by one point. Math the Band was... interesting. There were like 5 or 6 12 year old Math the Band fangirls, which was strange and very unexpected.

AND!
The Ergs! on the 30th and TFT/ Public Access/ The Fad on April 4th!
