i feel like milton

I have been pretty busy lately, and yet not much is new. 2 weeks ago, Wednesday, I visited my friend Alana and her newborn baby Emily Nichole, who is really cute and makes the most awesome faces ever. The next day was the greatest girls night out I’ve had in far too many years. I went out for dinner and drinks with my co-workers Erica, Jessica, and Tasha at Red Lobster. It was a great splurge ;) The next day was Erica’s last day of work. Why does it always seem you have the best times with friends when you or they are leaving soon. She’s moving to NC. Lost another friend to the dirty South.

That weekend, I was in a parade with John and rode in his uncle’s 1970 cadillac convertible. I threw melting chocolate at the eager faces of children. I should have thrown water balloons… it was a good 90 degrees. That Monday, the 27th, I went with a handful of co-workers and 88 teenagers to Cedar Point in Ohio. It was crazy and BEYOND hot and muggy, but an overall okay time. I went on some great rides and waited in line for 2 hours for the new Millenium rollercoaster, which was a really great rollercoaster. The kind that probably makes your face squish back and your shirt come up. Yeah, it does. We left Buffalo at 6am and got back at 2am. I was exhausted. And I don’t think I’d ever been so overheated.

I took Tuesday and Wednesday off from work to rejuvenate myself. I worked Thursday and Friday, and then got another 4 days off for this past weekend. On Saturday I saw War of the Worlds, which was not that hot. It was kind of cheesy and lame for most of it, funny for parts, and exciting for very little. I would say, rent it when it comes out on DVD. The 4th of July was also John’s great-aunts 91st Birthday, so there was a party at his house that day. It was a lot of fun and I love John’s family. I don’t have much family of my own, so our’s are polar opposites. And I’m probably closer with some of his family than I am with my own grandparents and aunts and uncles, haha.

So today it was back to the grind, and I won’t be having any more extended weekends for quite a while. I REALLY need a new job. Sure, I’m being promoted. However, right now I am still being paid my same low ass salary while I do my own work, Erica’s work (her open position is the one I am supposedly taking over), and now the administrative assistant is quitting so they have me doing her job as well. I won’t even get into all that (as it would take me days to cover), but to sum things up: I Need To Leave As Soon As Possible. I can’t take it anymore. I would quit tomorrow if I knew I’d get another job within the next month. Luckily, I have saved up enough money that if I were to be without a job for a month, it would not hurt me too much. I’d also LOVE to quit right now because they have me doing so much that it would completely fuck them over. And that’d be awesome.

Wow this got long, hahaha. It gives me something to stall with while at work. Just one more hour Jen, you can do it…

Miller - How’s the new job? Lets plan a heist. I'll bring the ski masks.
Anthony - I’ve tried calling you (on your dorm phone) 3-4 times in the past week, but you’re not around. I left you a message and it cut me off, the bastard. Call me soon, I miss.
Erik - Do you still read this?
