Operation Bolero.

I have been too absent.  Prepare for my homecoming.

I moved from Kettering to London in March 2006.  This was a good move, notably because i got the chance to move in with my boyfriend, Simon.  I live in Hendon, (zone 3),  North West London, in a lovely Suburban tree lined Victorian Street, 1 minute from a park on a hill.  London started off on the rocky side for me, moving from job to job, no money, too many people, feeling chlostrophobic, but now i'm enjoying it, for now.  I am working in a Secondary (11 - 16 year old) school which specialises in Performing Arts.  My role is a Learning Mentor, which basically means that i'm an internal supply teacher without the teaching qualification status.  I love my job and it has allowed me to get a placement on a PGCE Primary course starting from September 2007.  So, for a a year i shall be a full time student again until i become a qualified teacher. Can't wait, seriously.

My household has the addition of two rats called Tofu and Vegemite, and two 6 month kittens called Pickle and Liquerice.  When i move to the country i am hoping to get a donkey. haha!

I honestly have no idea where time has gone too.  It certainly did a good job of escaping me thats for sure!

I am still visiting and reading up on as many deserted WW2 airfields.  One day, when i have the time i am hoping to compile some kind of information package, be it a book, website, dvd...but i want it to contain the history, photos both old and new and maps for any urban explorers of the airbases.  It's not really the weather though at the moment to be searching for pill boxes and nissan huts. My main aim is to try and preserve something of historical importance that has been forgotten.  WW2 airfeilds weren't just about war and work, it was about style, entertainment, dancing.  It niggles me, all these phanatics who spend hours trying to recreate themselves based on the 1940/50's image,  which yeah okay, it's fair enough, but i enjoy that era of time so much that i don't want to recreate, i want to preserve, and i think i could do this with some research on airfields.  So thats my aim, oh along with maybe starting a family geneology company in my spare time and starting tap dancing again.  At the age of 24, i have some strange ambitions.

I rarely go to hardcore shows anymore, the new bands are lame and the choice of venues are whack, oh and the people are stupid.  I still enjoy busting out my records though, mainly stuff like descendents.  I'm really enjoying some folk metal at the moment and recently just returned from Helsinki, Finland where i saw probably THE best show ever with Insomnium and Moonsorrow. Pure brilliance.

That's my news in a blog.
