Good morning all.
Please pray for Capt. Richard Phillips. In an act of unselfish bravery Capt. Phillips surrendered himself to pirates off the coast of Somalia in order to safeguard his crew and in an effort to avoid their capture. The crew of the ship Maersk Alabama later retook the ship and captured one of the pirates. It's not clear if that effort was facilitated by the SEAL Team now aboard the ship.
The Maersk Alabama is carrying aid from the US.
Somali pirates have captured several ships in this area in recent days.
They have numerous hostages.
Captain Phillips was recaptured by the pirates after a failed escape attempt last night. He is being held in a lifeboat. US Naval forces are on the scene along with FBI negotiators.
Again, please pray that this situation will be resolved with minimal violence.
