Legend of the Seeker
Please please don't unfriend me over this. LOL diseased_inside recced Seeker to me. Now normally, I trust her advice. She told me about Dexter, I told her about Rome. We are twins sometimes. So I caught an episode randomly and I felt very meh about it. I had no idea what was going on and well, honestly, it was halfway through the episode. I thought it was some LOTR rip-off.
Then my MIL gave me a random gift card to Amazon. I don't even remember the hows or whys. She does stuff like that. And by some grace of the Gods, Seeker was on sale that week. So I picked it up. I mean, it was free in the grand scheme of things and it was free on sale.
Let me tell you, after that first disc, my husband and I were hooked. And we were watching it one time when my mom came in. After seeing it, she was hooked too and later watched about 6 hours straight to catch up with us. Now every Saturday we have Seeker time, when the three of us watch it (and love it) together.
Plus, have you met the fandom? With the exception of a few people, it is the most welcoming, wank-free, amazing fandom I've ever been in. The only thing that sucks is that the show is so *perfect* for me, that I don't really seek out any kind of fanfic. I love making icons for it though. (And picspams!)
