ICA!

I am so freaking sick of the crapload of bad parenting in action I keep seeing these days! If it isn't kids being taken to age inappropriate films, it's spoilt kids whining at the top of their lungs for things in the store while their parents do NOTHING but pander to their wishes or pretend nothing's happening despite the angry stares from other people (THIS=MAJOR PET PEEVE OF MINE).

I am so sick of these idiot parents who are so scared of making their kid upset that they give them everything they ask for and do NOTHING to curb poor behavior! I have a neighbor across the street whose son is possibly THE BIGGEST pain in the ass brat, yet she acts as though he's a perfect little angel. Every wrong thing he does is excused with "he's just so intelligent that he needs a LOT of stimulation for his brain..he's just PLAYING". WTH?!

My mother would NEVER have let me act the way this kid or so many others like him do! I'd have had every privilege known to man revoked!

There's nothing I can about it though except make a solemn vow to myself that if and when I ever have a child and/or children, I try my damnedest to nip this stuff in the bud before it gets out of hand! Also, I do not think any movie is worth the massive nightmares it could bring a small child.

On a brighter note, I hope you enjoy your mother's day traditions. ♥

I will never forget that when I was six, I threw a tantrum in our local Sprouse Rightz (which was like a Walgreens/CVS/Kmart kind of store). My mom wouldn't get me this Ken doll I wanted. She told me if I didn't stop the tantrum immediately, she was leaving me there. Know what she did? Left me there. Yup. She walked right out of the store. To a six year old, it felt like she was gone for hours but it was probably only 10 minutes. She knew the owners, so I wasn't in any harm but you can bet your ass that I never threw another tantrum in public over a toy again.

I think way too many parents have hopped on the blame anything but my kids bandwagon. And with so many docs handing out Ritalin and ADHD diagonsises like it was going out of style, it's no wonder. Oh, it's not little Madison's fault, she has ADHD. This is me, rolling my eyes and snorting. Bull and shit.
