I went to this place last night. I am just not a bar person. The people talk too loud, the music is always too loud and I don't really like alcohol anymore. Remove all of these elements from a bar and all you have left is a bunch of bored people chain-smoking. I kept looking around wondering who all of the people were and why exactly they were

I never understood the appeal of bars either. Especially the noise level, as you mentioned. :)

Maybe if it was not so LOUD. I hate having to ask the other person to repeat what they said every single time. If I can't hear them then they can't hear me so...

I do that when I visit Las Vegas - I look around and wonder what everyone's story is. Probably not all that interesting, but I imagine they have some crazy story to tell. :)

As an artist I like to people watch. I wish I could do it without being noticed. I like to watch the crowd and try to figure out things about them by their body language. It's also interesting to pick out the people who only smoke cigarettes when they are in a bar because their handling of the cigarette is a lot more theatrical.
