"Members of the Rich Hill Christian Church in Casey county say last Sunday's service came to an abrupt halt when parishioners claimed to witness a heavenly sighting. Pastor Rick Hogue says it was a very powerful moment. " I was teaching out of Revelations and all of a sudden a big rainbow came across the ceiling stopping the service."
Pam Buis tells LEX-18 News she never carries a camera to church, but for some reason she took one that day and was able to capture the image. "Wonderful, so peaceful you could feel the presence in the room." Said Buis.
Pastor Hogue says they shook the blinds and even turned off the lights, but the rainbow was still there. Parishioners then saw something even more incredible as they claim a cross began to form in the middle of the rainbow. "The cross turned into three bright circles." Said Buis. And that's not all, she claims. "One of the dots was like the image of Jesus with his hands out stretched."
Church members have faced some scrutiny about what they claimed to have seen. But they say they have no doubt it was something special. "Go on and take it as his hand trying to get here to show us what he wants for us as a church body. " Said Pastor Hogue.
In an ironic twist, folks tell LEX-18 News when the pastor stopped his service, the rainbow went away. The church has been around since 1860, and members say this is a first."
