I heard your song, before my heart had time to hush it
The universe has lately assaulted me with references to The Last Unicorn. It popped up in a Humble eBook Bundle last week and I simply had to have it (never mind that I've read it several times). I burned through it and "Two Hearts" (which I'd never read before) in a weekend, when the animated film for the former popped up randomly on my Amazon Instant Watch queue.
I guess The Neverending Story would have been too obvious (and anyway, I just re-read it recently as the latest Daft Punk album has gotten Giorgio Moroder on my brain).
Whenever I troll Youtube for clips of some of these classics, I see a lot of comments to the tune of "I wish they still made art/told stories like this today" and I find it extremely encouraging.
Meanwhile, thinking about these two tropes:

Ghibli Hills
