Light slowly receded as the clock ticked by and as the sun slowly withdrew into the horizon, giving the moon complete control the skies.
A lone boy sat on the couch, staring defiantly at the clock, almost daring it to continue ticking. Genis sighed and slumped deeper into the couch, arms crossed as another minute passed.
“I’m sure he’ll be back soon,” Raine comforted as she passed by.
Genis just sighed and slumped down even lower. They’ve decided to take a break at Altessa’s for a few days after countless tiring battles. Genis had been looking forward to spending time with his half-elf friend, Mithos, only to find him gone. What a disappointment that had been!
So he sat there, glaring at the clock, awaiting his friend’s return. The others having noticed his bad mood at the news couldn’t decide on whether to try and comfort the young mage or let him sulk. In the end, when he threatened to use Indignation on Zelos who tried to console him, everyone decided it was best to stay away for the time being.
“It’s been four hours! He didn’t even tell Altessa where he was going! What if he’s hurt? Or worse!”
“He’s survived on his own before. I’m sure he knows what he’s doing,” Lloyd tried his hand at comforting his best friend.
“But-“
Genis just sighed when he knew that complaining won’t do any good. So he slumped back into the couch and stared at the clock. In a few minutes, his eyes began to droop and he fell asleep. It was perhaps a few hours later, he couldn’t be sure, when a light pressure on his forehead awoke him. Blinking owlishly, Genis rubbed sleep from his eyes and turned to find Mithos standing before him.
Jumping up and not caring if the blanket covering him (Raine’s doing most probably) fell to the floor, he exclaimed, “Mithos!”
“Did I wake you?” he asked, smiling softly.
“I don’t think so. Was Raine around just now?” Genis inquired, looking around for any sign of his sister.
“I don’t believe so. Why?”
“It’s nothing. I thought I felt someone kiss me on the forehead and Raine usually does that when I’m sleeping so I thought… never mind.”
“Well, it’s late. We should both get to bed.”
Narrowing his eyes suspiciously, Genis couldn’t help but ask, “Where have you been all day anyways? I was so worried and now we have to wait until tomorrow before we can play!”
Mithos smiled mischievously, “It’s a secret, but I’ll tell you when I think you’re ready.”
Genis was ready to protest, but a yawn got the better of him causing Mithos to chuckle gently.
“Come on. Let’s get to bed. We’ll wake up early tomorrow and play the whole day, alright?”
Smiling sleepily, and deciding that questioning Mithos can wait until tomorrow, Genis let himself be led to dreamland.

This turned out so wrong. I'm losing my touch. I really am. Perhaps I should play the game again...
