Edwardian postcard scans

I used to have a fondness for the top floor junkshop of Affleck's Palace in Manchester. The only thing they ever sold cheap was postcards...I found a few of them in an old box a few weeks ago and decided to scan them

The first of these ladies was rather more than a music-hall performer! Dame Lilian Braithwaite, as she became, had a long and distinguished stage career; possibly her most notable achievement was appearing in the premiere of Noel Coward's The Vortex in 1924 at the Everyman Theatre, Hampstead opposite the Master himself.

And the last one, Gertie Millar, went on to be Lady Dudley, although in her time as an actress it seems she didn't move far from music hall and musical comedy.

Any names on the backs of the others?

By the way, I've just found a lot more Gertie Millar postcards at http://www.collectorspost.com/Millar.htm. They don't seem to have yours, though. I'm sure they'd be interested!

As for the other names, unfortunately most don't have labels. I guess they were popular at the time and people were expected to recognise them without the label...

Ooh, thanks for telling me! Unfortunately I've a large blank spot in the brain where it comes to actresses ;)
