I have a job interview!!!
I awoke to the phone ringing at 9 am this morning. I didn't recognize the number so I forwarded to my voice mail. Low and behold but it was Kafe Leopold's calling me to set up an interview with their pastry chef. They are currently looking for a pastry assistant and I applied for the job several days ago. I didn't think I would be considered but they liked my letter of intent and asked me to come in at 1 pm on tomorrow (sunday). My first thought was "thank fucking god I didn't go out last night!!! otherwise I would have slept in until this evening and missed my chance with them!"
So, yeah. I might be getting back into pastry again which is good. What I like about Kafe Leopold's is that it is Austrian cuisine and by working there I further my chances of securing a job overseas when I move to Germany. That won't be happening anytime in the forseeable future but I want it to happen and this is the first start! ....
this dish in the pic below is a very famous Austrian pastry called "mohr im hemd". It is a chocolate "sin" cake with chocolate sauce, and whipped vanilla cream. It is their specialty. I already know how to make it! Soooo . wish me luck on my interview!!!
