I leave in less than a month, and I'm using all this free time to slowly get my shit together and make a little extra money. My life's pretty mundane, hence the lack of updates.
I've been trying to write something about Israel since I got back but I can't. The whole two weeks was a beautiful mess of memories, and looking back on my pictures and keepsakes it feels like it was just a dream. I know that everything I'm about to say is going to come off really cheesy and trite, but traveling around a place with so much history and turmoil and beauty was really, really powerful. I haven't become religious or or anything like that but I felt something there that I can't describe, and the only people who can truly understand are the ones who were standing there with me. Yeah, I hiked Masada, rode a camel (twice), and saw all the things one is supposed to see when exploring Israel, but it was so much more than that.
It's safe to say that I've acquired what they call "wanderlust." Australia can't come soon enough.
Also, I'm 99% sure that I'll be up at Quinnipiac February 14 until the 19th! I'm buying train tickets tomorrow or the next day.
Today, I spooned with my dog and my best friend for about an hour and it was glorious.
PS- Am I really turning 21 in a week and a half?
PPS- I've been agonizing over this for the last 3 months: My first legal drink. Any suggestions???
