Time Trials
I wrote this when I was 16 or 17 years old. I really like it. I changed one line and made a couple other minor changes:
Twenty-one years comes so suddenly, suddenly sneaks up on me.
I hear this is the age, but age is all I seem to do.
She says, "Isn't this the life?"
I do not grasp her understanding of being young.
Youthfulness is so hard to enjoy when it seems to leave.
Then, I realize I'll be 21 for a whole year.
